The sizes of the two SAN are as follows:
CX-500:
Raw Storage – 32,451 GB
Usable Storage – 24,086 GB

There are so many high spec machines sit at idle, you can really do quite allot with 2 servers and create a cluster to support many different applications and even virtualization for an entire infrastructure. Your environment will be highly available and fault tolerant using these techniques.

We should start with 2 identical machines each with 2 or more hard drives. One of these drives will be used for the operating system; the other is our DRBD drives. Once we configure DRBD with GFS2 we have our replacement SAN.

I prefer to dedicate one drive completely to the operating system for I/O performance. I use the latest release of Fedora Linux but any distribution should be fine.

For the virtualization hypervisor I use libvirt with KVM which will completely replace xen eventually.

Once familiar with this kind of configuration you can easily take one node offline to upgrade additional storage or any hardware requirements without users suffering.

If you would like us to build you one of these clusters please send us an email enquiry sales@testlabs.com.au.

We provide you with a full working manual, disaster recovery assistance, and remote management as necessaries.

Video coming Soon…

We place a special black box appliance at your business. It is expected you already have an internet connection; there are no additional requirements. We can backup every single computer on your network securely with blowfish encryption with one simple appliance. There are no requirements for additional software to be installed on windows clients PC’s as we are using SMB protocol to mount windows partitions on our black box appliance.

Backups can be configured to run at any preferred time, usually midnight and uses incremental technology to avoid high bandwidth usage.

===================== |

Client windows pc’s/servers| ==> |Testlabs Black Box |ADSL/Internet| ===> Testlabs Melbourne Data Centre.

===================== |

There is no monthly fee; We charge $3.50 per GB for remote backup and a once off $500 fee for the installation of the black box at your Melbourne business.

When you loose your data, you can wait for a restore from our remote data centre which could take quite a while depending on how many GB and varies upon your site connection speed. If you require your data urgently same business day we can have it courier bring it out to you .
